At this project, light is not designed to illuminate everything equally. Instead, it is carefully orchestrated to preserve and elevate the experience that matters most.

Ginza, Tokyo, is renowned for its world-class sushi restaurants, where precision defines every aspect of the dining journey—from the selection of ingredients and the mastery of technique to the atmosphere in which each dish is presented.

This philosophy is echoed at Ginza Sushi Ichi—TECHCOMBANK RESTAURANT Hanoi, where every design decision is intentionally restrained to maintain focus on the essence of the omakase experience.

Within this setting, lighting serves a deliberate purpose. The entire space is organized around the sushi counter, with illumination carefully directed to reinforce this visual focal point. The chef’s workspace is rendered with exceptional clarity, while the timber countertop is illuminated to reveal its natural texture and warmth. Surrounding areas are subtly layered with lower light levels, creating depth and intimacy without drawing attention away from the dining experience.

Light is not applied uniformly.

The luminaires remain discreet.

Only what deserves attention is illuminated.

LK was responsible for supplying the complete lighting solution for the project, including architectural lighting fixtures and decorative luminaires from i-Lantern, a lighting brand developed by LK Group. The lighting package was carefully selected to ensure that the completed installation faithfully reflected the intended design vision.

Each luminaire was chosen for its ability to deliver precise beam control and targeted illumination, minimizing glare and eliminating visible light sources within the guests’ direct field of view. High-quality light sources with consistent color rendering were specified to preserve the authentic appearance of both the cuisine and the material palette throughout the space.

To complement the lighting design, LK also provided an intelligent lighting control system from Lutron. The system enables seamless management of lighting scenes throughout different phases of operation—from preparation and service to closing hours—ensuring a consistent visual environment while maintaining an uninterrupted and refined guest experience.
